Interfleet and walkerwarren associates working together

Interfleet Technology’s association with the team from walkerwarren associates goes back to 1994. Since that date we have worked together on numerous rolling stock projects valued in excess of £2bn.
In 1994, Andrew Walker assisted Interfleet in the placement of the rolling stock contract for 14 Heathrow Express trains with Siemens/CAF.

Such has been the reputation that this partnership established with BAA, as part of the Heathrow Express project, that we have been retained by them ever since and have an ongoing mandate until 2009.
In that time, we have procured a further 3 batches of trains for them. 

A feature of the walkerwarren and Interfleet approach has always been to challenge the norm.
In the award of contracts for EMUs and DMUs for ScotRail in 1999, Andrew Walker and the Interfleet team,
re-engineered the then current industry procurement strategy and process in order to reduce the procurement cycle time from 18 months to just 5 months. whilst still maintaining the
commercial advantage of the purchaser in the transaction.

walkerwarren’s ability to operate at senior and director level has proven its benefit on all the projects
we have worked together, not least the recent Northern Ireland Railways train replacement project.
We were awarded a contract to provide advice from the procurement strategy phase right through to service introduction of the trains with walkerwarren also providing board level advice to NithCo, the holding company of Translink in Northern Ireland. Jonathan Wragg said that:“It is Andrew Walker’s ability to persuade and direct senior level clients, which adds such value to the service provided”.

Another feature of the walkerwarren support that Interfleet have appreciated over the years is the ability and dedication of the staff to go anywhere at any time for the good of the client and the project.
We have worked together on projects in China and Japan as well as most other European countries.
